1 Kings

1 Kings is the eleventh book of the Bible and begins with the reign of King Solomon, known for his wisdom and the building of the temple in Jerusalem. It then records the division of Israel into two kingdoms—Israel in the north and Judah in the south—after Solomon’s death. The book highlights the spiritual decline of many kings and God’s call to faithfulness through prophets like Elijah. It is a book of leadership, worship, and the consequences of turning away from God.
