The Life of Moses

Moses was born during a time when Pharaoh ordered all Hebrew baby boys killed. Rescued from the Nile River by Pharaoh’s daughter, he was raised in the Egyptian palace yet never forgot his Hebrew roots. When he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew slave, he killed the Egyptian and fled to the land of Midian, where he became a shepherd and married Zipporah, the daughter of Jethro.

One day, while tending sheep near Mount Horeb, Moses encountered God in a burning bush. God called him to deliver Israel from slavery in Egypt. Despite his fears and doubts, Moses obeyed, confronting Pharaoh through miraculous signs and plagues until the Israelites were freed. He then led them through the Red Sea and into the wilderness, where they received the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.

Throughout forty years in the desert, Moses guided, taught, and interceded for the Israelites, even as they often rebelled. Though he was not permitted to enter the Promised Land, he saw it from Mount Nebo before his death. Moses is remembered as the greatest prophet and lawgiver of Israel — a humble servant who walked closely with God.

Moses’ legacy endures as a symbol of faith, leadership, and obedience. He showed that true greatness lies in serving God’s purpose, even through hardship and doubt. His life reminds believers that God equips the willing, not just the qualified — turning a humble shepherd into a nation’s deliverer and a friend of God whose words still guide generations today.
